History
Rural Training Australia (RTA) is a family-owned, private training organisation, actively involved in food production and the agriculture industry since 2001. Our National Training Organisation has provided the traineeship Program for 23 years, predominately in the Beef Cattle Pastoral sector. We only engage Trainer/Assessors that have exclusive Agriculture knowledge and skills. This assists us in keeping our industry knowledge current and up to date. We are contracted by the Government Training Departments in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia.
We are fortunate in having long-term Trainers/Assessors and support staff to help us achieve our aim to be the preferred training provider in Agriculture related industries. Our Trainers are all fully experienced in stock and horse handling, cattle processing, machinery operations, property repair and maintenance, fencing, drafting, seeding, harvesting etc. Our support staff are office based and help the trainers behind the scenes with paperwork and audit compliance.
We service the Agriculture and Feedlot industries in Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia, mainly for Beef Production, i.e. stations and feedlots.
Meet some of team, we are keeping it in the family! Introducing the founders of Rural Training Australia, Dave (Senior) and Kathy Rock as well as daughter Kylie and son Dave.
Dave (Senior) and Kathy Rock began Rural Training Australia with 15 agri culture trainees spread across the Western Australia wheat belt.
Today, the company has evolved into a national organisation and has delivered onsite qualifications to more than 1500 trainees as tractor operators, bore runners, head stockmen, managers, fence builders, jackaroos and jillaroos. They have also expanded the operation to encompass the vast northern regions of Western Australia, the Northern Territory and outback Queensland.
Kylie runs the engine room of our business and enjoys the interaction with clients. Born and bred in the wheat belt, Kylie married a wheat, sheep and cattle farmer. She has 3 sons and is a member of her local Agricultural Society.
Dave runs his own farming operation in Kimberley with his wife and daughters. Kylie and Dave fully understand Agriculture by experiencing the hardships and rewards of living on the land, and knowing more about drought than rain. Both are invaluable members of the Rural Training Australia team.
